What is the difference between our optical tubes and all others from various vendors? Each and every MallinCam VRC line optical tubes are shipped via Air Freight to our warehouse from the manufacturer to avoid sea salt contamination that can shorten the life of your optical tube reflective coatings. Other vendors use sea containers to ship their optical tubes from the manufacturer which exposure optical elements to sea salt for months of traveling by boat. We also check collimation on every optical tube prior to ship them to clients ensuring top quality. That's the MallinCam difference.
The MallinCam VRC-10 Ritchey-Chretien optical tube comes complete as shown. Including an super large 3" Crayford style linear focuser with 10:1 reduction speed, lock screw, tension adjustment screw, and 1.25" to 2" adapter included. Three focuser spacers are provided (50mm + 2 x 25mm) to mate between the focuser and optical tube and achieve perfect focus with any ccd cameras or other optical accessories such as diagonals, focal reducers, or Barlows. The optical tube comes with three integral 12VDC fans with plug-in battery pack (batteries not included) to rapidly cool down the 99% reflective dielectric coated Quartz mirrors. The VRC-10 comes complete with collimation screws and lock down screws to align the primary and secondary mirrors perfectly. A feat not found on many optical tubes of the same type. The scope comes complete with Carbon Fiber tube for little or no growing/shrinking with changes in ambient temperature, providing a temperature stable optical system that will keep its collimation and focus all night long.
