Rock Mallin
Rock is passionate about astronomy and equally as passionate about sharing his knowledge with people of all ages. In 1994, Rock and Don Fougere founded the Ottawa Valley Astronomy & Observers Group (O.A.O.G.).  The goal of the O.A.O.G is “to bring as many people together to learn astronomy” free of charge. A couple years after its inception, Rock and Don set up O.A.O.G in shopping centre parking lots to encourage passersby’s to have a look at the wonders of the universe. With help from many volunteers, OAOG is a dedicated and recognizable part of our community.  In addition to contributing his time and knowledge to people in our community, Rock has contributed something incredible to the astronomy community as a whole with his invention of the MallinCam Astronomical Video CCD Camera. The MallinCam is one of the most highly regarded cameras of its kind. Rock’s passion for astronomy and attention to detail have contributed to making the MallinCam a sought after item to observers of all levels of experience.

Edwardsburgh / Cardinal, Ontario Canada Township Award


On July 29 to July 31 2016, The Mayor of Edwardsburgh / Cardinal  the Honorable Pat Sayeau drop by to present the award for organizing the 12th Annual International Video Star party in Johnstown Ontario Canada.  The event bring local businesses an economic aid in the region and increase awareness of
the night skies and astronomy to the public in the area.
