The 2023, Annual Video Star Party is officially CANCELLED.
As a result of a significant number of cancellations, the 2023 Camera Star Party has been officially called off. The effort required to prepare the yard for the event is deemed unwarranted due to the low turnout expected. Furthermore, the presence of smoke from nearby forest fires may pose a potential issue.
VIDEO STAR PARTIES History
The International Video Star Party is a world first created by Rock Mallin back in 2004. Still today, it is the oldest such video star party dedicated to live video astronomy observation and video imaging. The event started in Foymount Ontario Canada back in 2004, Ontario's highest populated point at 1830 feet above sea level provides excellent transparency, clear steady skies with magnitude of 7.2 on a clear night. The location was once a test facility to conduct video camera testing based on new camera design by Rock Mallin which eventually got to be the official site for the International Video Star Party. Now, the event takes place in Johnstown Ontario Canada due to the commodities nearby. On occasion, the International Video Star Party returns to its original site in Foymount Ontario Canada. Dedicated to the Science of astronomy and its education and outreach programs.
